Anna Pokrovskaya

Anna Pokrovskaya is an English-speaking Russian legal expert with extensive experience in intellectual property, civil law, and private international law. With an academic and practical background that spans patent law, cross-border IP enforcement, and civil procedure, Anna specializes in the management and protection of intellectual property rights both in the Russian Federation and internationally. She has worked with foreign and domestic clients on matters ranging from patent filings, industrial design, and trademark prosecution to complex issues surrounding IP infringement on global e-commerce platforms.

Anna holds two LLM degrees in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Turin (Italy) and Tongji University (Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property, China), both delivered in collaboration with WIPO, as well as an LLB in International Law from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and a Master’s in Intellectual Property Management from Bauman Moscow State Technical University. She is currently a PhD candidate and Assistant in the Department of Civil Law and Procedure and Private International Law at the RUDN Law Institute, where she teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Russian and English. Her teaching portfolio includes Roman Law, Cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions, Civil and Commercial Comparative Law, Labour Law, and Private International Law with a focus on transnational insolvency.

Anna’s practical legal experience includes senior roles at the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), the IP Center “Skolkovo,” and in private legal practice. Her expertise covers advising on national and international patent applications, conducting comprehensive patent searches and landscape analyses, managing trademark and industrial design filings, and advising on complex cross-border IP and civil disputes. She also has experience in labour law, corporate governance, and supporting R&D and innovation-oriented businesses.

An active legal scholar and researcher, Anna has contributed to multiple grant-funded projects focused on the digitalization of dispute resolution and expansion of procedural mechanisms for copyright and IP protection in the cross-border context, including joint projects with the Russian Science Foundation and the RUDN Development Programme. She has authored more than 40 academic publications in Russian and international journals, with a particular focus on the intersection of intellectual property rights, artificial intelligence, and online commerce.

Anna’s language skills include Russian, English, Italian, and German. She is also a certified patent holder and frequent participant and speaker at international legal forums, summer schools, and academic exchanges in Europe and Asia. Her commitment to academic excellence is reflected in her service as a reviewer and editorial board member for several international journals in the field of IP law.
